EMDR is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing trauma-informed therapy treating PTSD, Anxiety, Trauma and Grief.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy designed to help the brain process distressing experiences and reduce the emotional intensity connected to them. It is especially effective for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, grief, and painful memories that feel “stuck.”
I offer EMDR therapy to adults across Ontario and Quebec through secure virtual sessions.
EMDR is a structured therapy that helps the brain reprocess overwhelming or traumatic experiences. Instead of talking about the trauma in detail, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (eye movements, tapping, or sound) to help your nervous system unlock patterns of fear, stress, or emotional reactivity.
The goal isn’t to erase the memory — it’s to reduce the emotional charge and help you regain a sense of safety, balance, and control.
EMDR is highly effective for individuals experiencing:
If you find yourself stuck in cycles of fear, avoidance, or emotional numbing, EMDR can help you move forward.
Treatment typically includes:
We begin by understanding your story, building emotional safety, and identifying the triggers or symptoms you want to work on.
You will learn grounding, mindfulness, somatic awareness, and nervous-system regulation tools to support the EMDR process.
Using bilateral stimulation, we activate the brain’s natural healing system so the memory becomes less distressing and more integrated.
We work collaboratively to process insights, strengthen resilience, and support you in daily life.
EMDR is widely recognized as one of the most effective treatments for trauma because it:

This session length allows for safe trauma processing while maintaining sufficient time for nervous-system regulation and integration.
Extended EMDR sessions support deeper processing and continuity, which is often clinically beneficial for complex or longstanding trauma.
Half-day intensives provide focused, uninterrupted trauma processing and include preparation and integration to support safety and effectiveness.
Full-day intensives offer comprehensive trauma treatment in a condensed format and include extensive clinical preparation, processing, and follow-up integration.
My fees reflect advanced clinical training, extensive experience, and specialized certification in trauma treatment. I hold two Master’s degrees, have 6+ years of clinical experience, and am EMDRIA-certified, meeting international standards for EMDR therapy practice.
Sessions are tailored, evidence-based, and grounded in safety, nervous-system regulation, and clinical precision.
EMDR therapy is a specialized, evidence-based trauma treatment that requires advanced post-graduate training and clinical expertise beyond traditional talk therapy. As an EMDRIA-certified therapist with extensive experience in trauma and nervous-system-based care, I complete ongoing consultation and continuing education to ensure treatment is safe and effective. EMDR sessions often involve additional preparation, structured assessment, and sometimes longer appointment times to support proper stabilization, processing, and integration. Many clients choose EMDR because it can be more efficient for trauma-related concerns, sometimes leading to meaningful progress in fewer sessions.
